In the first few weeks, £3,000 of incorrectly paid items were identified when every item claimed was compared against every item paid. One medicine type had been incorrectly paid by NHSBSA which across close to 100 scripts amounted to a potential loss of over £3,000. This was successfully reclaimed from the NHSBSA.
Whilst they were good at avoiding unclaimed scripts, the transparency and automation of the process saved time and improved consistent claiming. Safeguarding payments delivered another £4,119 to claims. The slickness of the services tracking and workflow to the branches helped add 163 more NMS, 119 Hypertension services and 31 AMBP which all added a further £7,744 in margin.
Now for the detail...
RWA Pharmacy pursued Mansons for about 2 years before they finally signed. Mansons believed they were leaving no money behind. The owners would be one of the most committed and focused RWA Pharmacy has come across. When the data was analysed, it became clear that they were not leaving much money behind in the usual places. RWA Pharmacy had to find money in other places to convince them of the value of the solution, Dispensary+ Insights.
RWA Pharmacy automated the pull of its EMIS PMR to the RWA cloud platform. Connections were made to all the other datasources which enabled tracking of Unclaimed Scripts, Exemptions, Payment Exceptions, Buying Compliance, Predicting FP34 Payments, Safeguarding Payments, Inventory Control, Services and Non-returning Patients.
Working with RWA Pharmacy’s Customer Success Manager new processes were put in place to make sure all opportunities were realised.
