In addition to the £8,307 in first 6 months saving for the group from unclaimed scripts, it was estimated that they gained an additional £18,000 from getting on top of stock, FP34 payment predictions, exemptions and safeguarding payments. Work has begun on capturing more gains from buying compliance and streamlining services in the branches.
Now for the detail...
The owners of Ackers recognised that the ongoing challenge of the inadequate NHS contract, and the cost of living crisis required radical changes to their business to ensure their future. The obvious costs and efficiencies had already been implemented but they needed to go a step further to gain more cost control. They had excellent reports but no way of pulling it all together effectively. They knew data analytics was the key to the next stage, so they called in RWA Pharmacy.
Through our teams deep integration with Cegedim, they loaded Acker’s PMR and other data onto their platform. They then built modules for each business driver, including Unclaimed Scripts, Switching/Exemptions, Payment Exceptions, Buying Compliance, Predicting FP34 Payments, Safeguarding Payments, Inventory Control, Services and Non-returning Patients.
Our customer success team compared Ackers performance against their benchmarks from other customers to identify where the biggest gains could be made initially. Unclaimed scripts and dead stock were prioritised.
The head office team were walked through the solution and shown how other pharmacy groups get their branch teams’ engagement to move the performance needle. A plan was put in place to tackle the issues identified and formal review meetings were set up. Included in the subscription, the customer success team are at the end of the phone for any items that crop up.
